Obituary for Daniel Pierson - Greeley Tribune

May 21, 2019Daniel Lee Pierson, 31, of Greeley, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in Sterling. He was born on his mother’s birthday, Dec. 3, 1987, in Humboldt, Iowa to Dick and Diane (Godfredsen) Pierson.Daniel attended Greeley West High School and University of Northern Colorado. While in school, Daniel was very active in football and baseball. Following high school, Dan assisted in coaching football for four years at Dayspring Christian High School and helped them achieve many state titles. On Feb. 1, 2013, Dan married Tiffany Ericksen at Saint Mary Catholic Church. He worked many jobs, including training at McMurray Training Center in Casper, Wyo., parts department for Power Equipment dealership in Spencer, Iowa, and recently worked for Noble Energy as a Lease Operator 2. Dan is a six-year member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2160 and currently serves as youth director. Dan has been a long-time member of Saint Mary Catholic Church.Dan clearly loved his life and his family. His loving essence has profoundly affected everyone who knew him. And we will forever remember his amazing hugs!Dan is survived by his wife, Tiffany Pierson of Greeley; daughter, Payton; son, Hunter; parents, Dick and Diane Pierson; sisters, Kelly Lunbery (Tom), Pamela Campbell (Jeff) and Stephanie McClure (Jerrod); brother, Brian Pierson (Lindsay); grandmothers, Betty Pierson of Estherville, Iowa and Mary Estelle Godfredsen of Algona, Iowa; mother-in-law, Jennifer Straight (Thomas) and father-in-law, Stefan Ericksen; six nieces, five nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Pierson of Estherville and Elvin Godfredsen of Armstrong, Iowa.Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley.
